BOSTON BRUINS – FANS PROUDLY SING AMERICAN NATIONAL ANTHEM

WE ARE BOSTON STRONG!

Last Night, April 17, 2013. The BOSTON BRUINS play their first game since the Boston Marathon incident. In this video (NBC live footage) we watch our proud community sing the National Anthem with help from Rene Rancourt.

I found this video truly inspiring. I feel that this encapsulates the strong identity of our city. Sing along in support of freedom! Share this video with your friends and family!

We are “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the tragedy.

Sincerely,

- J$ the KiD

THIRD WORLD THURSDAY

I was reading Corinthians 9:24, which says that we are all runners, and therefore we should run to win the prize, and I realized that I must compete to get to heaven. I have therefore begun my poverty ministry. Just a few minutes ago I was watching the Bruins game for comfort purposes, but God spoke to me and said that I should do my ministry as a part of Third World Thursday.

I said no to the game and yes to whypoverty.net, a site that uses film to get people to talk about poverty. They commissioned eight documentaries from award winning filmmakers, and 30 short films from new talents to focus the discussion. So far I have only watched US, an Animated History of Poverty. It really captures themes from how the weather created poverty to how the rich have decided to live off of the poor.

So how will I end my night? I will watch Park Avenue, which documents poverty in America, and then I will check the score on boston.com for the Bruins Game. Let’s go Bruins.

CAN I KICK IT? RECAP WRITTEN BY NYADENYA INYAGWA

After finding God, I took to my natural instincts and denounced hip-hop and its elements because I viewed them as bad influences. However, I grew up with the culture and therefore could not give up on it that easily. After a 4-month hiatus from hip-hop, I have revamped myself to find the positivity in it.

The Boston hip-hop scene is just oozing with positivity and on Feb. 16, 2013, over 200 people went to Paris Street Art Gallery in Everett to buy sneakers and T-shirts, take pictures of wonderful art, and watch B-Boy/B-girl Battles, and MC performances during Can I Kick it.

Due to my love of positivity I decided to find out why Can I Kick it is good for the youth. “Events like this are good for my kids because it gives them an opportunity to use their money wisely,” said Missy Raduazzo, a parent who brought her children to the event “ and it gives them an incentive to do better in school”.
